Gwon
Another week and another great installment of the Community Blog comes your way. This week we are going to talk about a few new events that are happening around the world. We will take a look at a big event coming up in Germany and a few Champions have organized the first Facebook Team Face-Off.
Triple Play V
Our friends of Boot Camp L.E. and City Comics are putting on the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game Triple Play V. This is the fifth installment of the Triple Play event and will take place on June 3-5, 2011 in Leipzig, Germany. The event has a full schedule with a wide range of different tournament formats. There is definitely something for everyone at this event. Here are a couple of the tournaments that are taking place:
Back to Basics – Lazy Peon Core format with no EAs, foils, or other promos. Let’s see how creative you can get with the most recent commons and uncommons.
EUCC Warm-Up – Core Constructed. This is your chance to get some live testing for winning EUCC. Highly sought after promos, Lord of Icecrown and Nathanos Blightcaller foils, lead the full list of prizes available for the taking. The more the merrier; if the tournament attendance hits 70 players, a Savage Raptor Loot card and Spectral Tiger Loot card will be raffled off for the participants in the event.
PvP Arena – 3 player teams, Core Constructed. You and your buddies can bring the fight to Gurubashi. Teams of 3 compete against each other for pride and prizes. Deck building restrictions apply across all three team decks; be sure to check the website for details.
Cleansing Common Hill – “Sauf WoW” format. Both you and your opponent draw from a community deck and try to decimate each the opposing hero. There are a few new twists for this format-- the game doesn’t end when one of the heroes dies!.
Booster packs, Loot cards, promo cards, entry into events are just some of the prizes available across all the different tournaments. In addition to all these prizes, Boot Camp LE is giving away a prize that that has yet to be announced. They have assured me it is well worth the wait and that players should attend for a chance at winning it.

If you are able to make it to this event, I highly recommend it. This is the fifth installment and the players at Boot Camp LE always put on a good event. If you're staying stateside, this next event may be for you.
Facebook Team Face-Off
A new event is making appearance at the North America Continental Championship/DMF Las Vegas this year. This public event brings together teams of 3 from each of the WoW TCG community Facebook pages. Each group page can have multiple teams in the competition. The format is Core Constructed and each team has to play 3 different classes of heroes. Prizes include rare loot to the winning team, along with a blog entry dedicated to the team and group page. Another unique prize for the first place team is being immortalized in the next Epic Collection rulebook. Cryptozoic will pay tribute to the hard work that you, your team, and your Facebook group have brought to the WoW TCG. Make sure you have your silver pens handy to sign autographs for your fans. Be sure to come to the tournament in your group/team apparel. I want to see those Gateway WoW t-shirts. Thanks goes out to Aric Jack and Julia Smith for pulling this together. Check out the NACC schedule for more details. There is a lot of team pride on the line, I want to hear some trash talking!
Side track! William, Ry and I were able to take in a movie last night for a midnight showing. It was a blast and it’s good to just turn off the brain and enjoy some non-stop action, plus he’s a fan of The Rock. Do you have a story of you and your WoW TCG friends doing activities outside of the game? Do you have pictures? I would love to hear the stories that you have to tell. Send them to mike(.)girard@cryptozoic(.)com (remove the parenthesis) and if they are cool, we’ll feature them in a future Community blog!
