Big news this week, so let's get right down to business.

World Championships Weekend

The 2011 World of Warcraft TCG World Championships will be held on November 10-13, 2011 in Rotterdam.

Cruise Terminal Rotterdam
Wilhelminakade 699
3072 AP Rotterdam
Netherlands

To play in the World Championships requires you to earn an invite by doing well in your Continental Championships, placing in the Top 8 of a Darkmoon Faire or Realm Championships, or by earning an invitation via your Honor Ranking. Honor is something you earn every single time you play a sanctioned match of WoWTCG. You can’t lose honor; it only goes up.

The requirements to get an invite to the World Championships through your Honor Rating are:

2011 Honor Rank: 5 or higher (1200 honor points)

2011 Matches: Minimum of 175 matches played

Remember that these are requirements only include tournaments played in the 2011 Season, which began on August 6, 2010.

If you've been watching your honor rating, you might have noticed a change yesterday in both your points and rank. That's because we made some changes to the calculator. The biggest change was upping the points from a win to four per round, and for a loss to two per round. We also changed some of the rank thresholds a bit.

We wanted each round to count a bit more, and the changes to the threshold give us a little more granularity in the levels. And no one lost honor, so this is just a "win-win" for everyone involved.

Origins

So if you're looking to the quest for a Worlds Invite, Cryptozoic will be attending the Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio this June. Check out that link for the full event schedule, including the Cryptzoic League all weekend long.

Logging Out

This will be my last Organized Play blog, as I’ll be leaving Cryptozoic this Friday. I’ve had an amazing time being part of the action behind the scenes of OP for this game since it launched in 2006. I’ll miss you all, and I’ll try to drop in and say “Hi” whenever I can.

Cheers,
