Summer is almost over, the leaves are starting to turn color and it’s getting cooler outside.  Kids are going back to school and you’ll soon see All Hallow’s Eve directions in your local store. Since it is the middle of August, it is also time to award Champion of the Month again.

This month’s Champion has been quite busy recently.  He has been running regular events at his “local” store (it is far from where he lives) and concentrating a lot on acquisition. He has been creative in finding locales to run his events in.  For those of you that are not familiar, in Europe, it is not uncommon to have hobby stores without play space.  So, in addition to demoing and getting new players into the game, they have the extra work of finding a suitable place to hold a tournament. This Champion has held events where he can find space, most recently in a pub! He is definitely growing his player base.

He also knows how to find help when he needs it.  He has recently reached out to other Champions and Organized Play Manager, Matthias Nagy.  He says that this has helped his playgroup immensely and as a result he was even able to get a Spectral Safari for his store (to the surprise of the store owner).  On top of all of this, he has players that weren’t too happy about the recent changes in format. He did his best and made sure to convey all of their feedback to CZE. The play group and this Champion have come to a middle ground and play continues on!

This Champion of the Month hails from Losheim am See in the Saarland (I used to live an hour from where he lives! – MG).  It is none other than CZEV 157, Tobias Wagner! Tobias will receive a Cryptozoic playmat, uncut sheet, as well as some other CZE goodies.  Congrats! Keep up the good work.
