Welcome to 2012, Heroes and Allies! The first Battleground kit of the year should be at your local hobby store now, and players who participate in tournaments earn honor points for every tournament they play in and every match they complete.
Just in case you’re a first time reader, let me explain briefly how honor works. The premise of honor since it was introduced in 2007 is that we reward everyone for participating in our Organized Play events. Every time you play in a sanctioned tournament with your 8-digit CZE ID, you receive a number of honor points. Each tournament will have a base point reward of twenty points that all players will earn just for signing up and each round a player will earn an additional three points for winning the round, and the losing player will earn one additional point.
In short, the more a player participates in sanctioned World of Warcraft Trading Card Game events, the more honor they accumulate. To see how much honor you have for the year, please make sure that your CZE ID is linked properly to a wowtcg.com account. Our first player mailing of 2012 will occur in March. Just like we mentioned during the 2011 World of Warcraft TCG World Championship this mailing will reward players based on the honor each player has accumulated from sanctioned events reported between Worlds 2011 and February 29th.
In March, players can earn foil promo card versions of Gollum Skybang and Blackout. The higher your 2012 Honor is after this quarter’s cutoff, the more promo cards you can receive for free!

Once this mailing is ready to go out, we will email a code to whichever email address is listed on those players’ individual wowtcg.com account, so it’s important to keep this account updated with a correct way to contact you. The code that you’re emailed will be used to redeem these cards to whatever your current mailing address is, and the goal of this process is to ensure that players who have earned these rewards never miss a mailing regardless of where they’re currently located around the world.
For more information on the honor ranks required to receive these mailings or the schedule for future Honor mailings, see the page here.
We want to reward players for every game that they play, and give hobby stores a reason to sanction and upload every event that they run so that players can get these free promo cards and we can see your local communities in action. If your favorite place to play the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game is having any issues with this, please have the store contact us at hobby@cryptozoic.com
