Thanks for checking in with the Cryptozoic Team OP again, heroes and allies. As of this blog, we’re about six weeks into the 2012 Realm Qualifier season. Realm Qualifiers are still Core Constructed format for the rest of February. With the introduction of Crown of the Heavens this week, players globally will be looking at new expansion and how these cards impact deck building for pretty much the rest of the Realm Season.
As a quick reminder to players that are new to a Realm Qualifier Season, the format for these events always changes mid-season. Realm Qualifiers will be Sealed Format in March and April, and players will build decks for each event using only three packs of Throne of the Tides and three packs of Crown of the Heavens in deck construction.
Players that have earned at least 10 Realm Points from their participation in 2012 Realm Qualifiers tournaments will be invited to participate in the 2012 Realm Championships over the weekend of April 28-29, 2012. The format for Day 1 of these championship events will be some number of Core Constructed rounds (based on attendance), followed by 3 rounds of Aftermath block drafting. The Top 16 players would come back on Day 2 to play a single elimination event with their Core Constructed decks from Day 1.
In addition to other prizes on the line during Realm Championships, the top player at each event will receive special VIP benefits at events like Darkmoon Faires, Continental Championships, and World Championship for the 12-months following their first place Realm Championship finish. These benefits include:
- Priority Registration for the main event
- Free Registration for all tournaments
- Priority Crafting Redemption prior to the main event
- Option of an assigned table number for the duration of the main event
- A gift pack with a rare Loot Card and a selection of Cryptozoic goodies such as sleeves, dice, etc.
- 25% additional booster packs if they are awarded any for any tournament at the above events (rounded up).
- A paid hotel room for the 2012 World of Warcraft Trading Card Game World Championship.
Here are a few highlights that our players have shared with us from their local Realm Qualifiers over the last few weeks.

Game On. McCook, Nebraska. January 14th, 2012.

Saltire Games. Indianapolis, Indiana. January 22nd, 2012

GameKnight Games. Winnipeg, Manitoba. January 29th, 2012.

Neutral Grounds Glorietta, Philippines. February 5th, 2012.
It’s never too late for players to get involved in Realm Qualifier events! All the way up to the Last Chance Qualifiers held on April 27th, the Friday before Realm Championships occur, players can earn more Realm Points for their chance to qualify to participate in their region’s Realm Championship event. In addition to this, all players earn Realm Points when they participate in Realm Qualifiers, so the more frequently you play the better chance you have to qualify!
