Realm Qualifiers are back and better than ever! We've made a few great changes that I'm excited to announce and we've continued along the path for the things that were working well.
For those of you unfamiliar with Realm Qualifiers, here's a little overview. This tournament series is hosted in local hobby stores worldwide and allows players a chance to attend one of our biggest events each year, the Realm Championships. Realm Championships are held in 24 different Realms around the world over the same weekend in May. Each Realm Qualifier you attend will grant you points necessary to gain an invite to the Realm Championship in your area. The higher you finish in the event, the more points you will gain. You need a total of 10 points to secure your invitation for the May event. There are also great prizes at both levels. For Realm Qualifiers, players will have a shot at foil cards, deck boxes, and booster packs along with the invitational points. The really great prizes are saved for the free invitation-only Realm Championship where first place is a VIP card that grants free entrance into Cryptozoic events all year long, extra prizes at big events, and an invitation to Worlds in the fall. It's certainly a title worth fighting for.

This year, we've made some fun changes. Here's what you should expect:
-We've extended the season by a whole two months! Realm Qualifiers will kick off Season 8 in November and run through the end of April. This gives players more time to collect points towards the Realm Championship.
-Contemporary is will be added to both the Realm Qualifiers and to the Realm Championships. Every two months of the Qualifier season, the format will rotate. November-December will support sealed play, during January –February players will enjoy Core Constructed events, and March-April will challenge deck-builders to create Contemporary decks.
- Different prizes for each format will keep players excited to attend as many events as possible. The top 4 and participation prizes will rotate for each two month section.
- The Realm Championship will incorporate Draft, Core, and Contemporary to determine the most well rounded competitor in the area. Players should expect at least 3 rounds of each format with a cut to Top 8. Depending on the total attendance, the number of Core rounds may increase to four or five at larger events. Draft rounds will be in the middle of the event.
-Players can now check how many Realm Qualifier points they have at any time by visiting their user profile page. Ten points are needed to qualifiy for the Realm Championship in May 2012.
-Stores will be invited to register for this event through an application. If your store did not receive an invitation to apply for this event, you may request more information through our Customer services Portal at www.wowtcg.com/contact (select Hobby Store Questions) and please provide the name of your store, the location, and your affiliation with the store (player, volunteer, TO, Manager, or Owner).
It's going to be a fun Realm Qualifier season, and we can't wait to see it kick off this November!
