December 4-5 in Torrence, CA

Alex Gellerman is the winner of Darkmoon Faire Los Angeles 2010!

After battling his way to a 7-1 finish in the swiss rounds with an Alliance Hunter deck featuring Avatar of the Wild, one of the dual-class epic abilities in this set, he sat down with an intimidating quarter-finals match to look forward to: a match against Tim Rivera, one of the game's top Limited players and the 2010 North American Continental Champion.

While Alex was plenty familiar with one-half of the epic abilities in this set thanks to Saturday play, he got a chance to play with the other half when he snapped up a shocking third pick Vigil of the Light. This was combined with a second pick Devout Aurastone Hammer in the first pack and a second pick Eranikus in the third pack! Alex constructed an Alliance Priest deck that focused on the raw power of his rares as well as the sheer size of allies like Bayner Cogbertson.

After powering his way through the quarter-finals against Tim Rivera, Alex went on to quickly 2 – 0 Eduardo Rossi – with one of the games involving a turn 4 Eranikus and a turn 5 Bayner Cogbertson! The finals was a showdown between him and Sean Polk, where Alex's removal and a critical mass of allies let him power through Sean in the third game.

But the Darkmoon Faire this weekend wasn't all about Worldbreaker and the main event. With beginner's events running throughout the weekend, the Spectral Safari getting 56 entries on Saturday, and the Lootapalooza event throwing out loot cards like candy to the players, there have been plenty of World of Warcraft TCG fans this weekend that have struck it rich in loot.

Thanks again to everyone who could make it out this weekend! And don't forget - Worldbreaker will be making its official release in stores everywhere on December 14th!

And, of course, congratulations once more to Maryssa and Cynthia Hall, joint Champions in the Costume Contest!
