Cryptozoic Will Be Honored at 67th Philly Non-Sports Card Show
As Part of Celebration, Company Will Offer Several Exclusives, Including Supergirl Trading Cards Season 1 Preview Set and Various Promo Cards
Lake Forest, CA – October 9, 2017 – Cryptozoic Entertainment, leading creator of board games, trading cards, and collectibles, today announced that it will be honored at the 67th Philly Non-Sports Card Show, the twice-annual show for dealers, manufacturers, and collectors of non-sports trading cards that will be held October 21-22 at Merchants Square Mall in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The entire show will be Cryptozoic-themed and feature the company’s products prominently, including a Supergirl Trading Cards Season 1 Promo Card that will be given to all attendees, a nine-card Supergirl Preview Set that will be offered for sale, a Big Belly Burger Dinner that includes a “Girl of Steel” Supergirl metal Promo card, a box break promotion, a Card Talk session with Cryptozoic staff, and various trading card sets available at the company’s table.
“We are truly honored to have this year’s show celebrate Cryptozoic,” said George Nadeau, Manager of Product Development at Cryptozoic Entertainment. “We are proud of all the great sets we’ve put out over the years and are extremely excited about the ones we’re planning to release over the next year. We still feel like we’re growing and improving with each set, as we constantly try to increase the value for collectors.”
Supergirl Trading Cards Season 1 Promo Card P3 will be given as a gift to all attendees at the show in anticipation of the release later this year of the set, which is based on the hit series that currently airs on the CW.
The Supergirl Trading Cards Season 1 Preview Set is exclusive to Philly Non-Sports Card Show and consists of nine “Cat Quotes” cards, featuring memorable lines of dialogue from the character Cat Grant in Season 1. The Preview Set is limited to 300 packs, with each offered for $25. As a gift, each buyer will receive Supergirl Promo Card P2. Furthermore, one of every ten Preview Set packs comes with an additional inserted card: an Autograph Card, signed by one of the stars of the TV series. There will also be a single Redemption Card in one of the packs that can be exchanged for a full piece of wardrobe from the show.
The Big Belly Burger Dinner is an informal dinner that celebrates Cryptozoic’s products on Saturday, October 21 at the Hilton Garden Inn. Due to the high anticipation, tickets for the dinner sold out well before the show. Attendees will receive an exclusive Supergirl Trading Cards Season 1 “Girl of Steel” metal P1 Promo Card. Big Belly is a fictional fast food chain in the DC Universe that makes several appearances in the TV series Arrow and The Flash, both of which are the subjects of licensed trading card sets from Cryptozoic.
Cryptozoic’s box break promotion allows collectors to buy any box of the company’s trading cards at the show and receive one of two items: Outlander Trading Cards Season 2 “Red Dress” Promo Card P11 or DC Bombshells Trading Cards “The Iceberg Lounge” Promo Card P10. An attendee needs to take his or her box to the Cryptozoic table, where a representative will cut the seal and then allow him or her to select one of the Promo Cards, while supplies last.
The Cryptozoic theme continues with a Card Talk session in the morning on Sunday, October 22. Cryptozoic company representatives will be on hand to answer questions about current and upcoming product releases.
Throughout the show, Cryptozoic will be at its table showing several of its recent and upcoming trading cards sets, including:
Arrow Trading Cards Season 4 — This is the first set for the popular CW series to include Autograph Cards signed by Stephen Amell, who stars as Oliver Queen, a.k.a. the Green Arrow. Based on the fourth season of Arrow, it features a 72-card Base Set, three Chase Sets with variants, randomly inserted Sketch, Autograph, Wardrobe, and Prop Cards, and Redemption Cards that can be redeemed for actual props used on the show. The rare, hand-drawn Sketch Cards, the first ever for an Arrow set, feature work by fan-favorite artists. The full-size redeemable props include several items worn or used by Arsenal (a.k.a., Roy Harper). The three Chase Sets are “Character Bios,” “Locations,” and “Olicity.”
DC Bombshells Trading Cards — The set is based on DC’s popular line of statues and comic books that is inspired by 1940s pinup art and reimagines DC’s history by placing its powerful female characters at the center of World War II. The 63-card Base Set and Chase Sets feature art from the covers of the DC Comics Bombshells comic book series—including drawings by Ant Lucia—and from DC Comics Bombshells variant covers of other comic books, as well as the illustrations used to create Cryptozoic’s DC Bombshells and Lil Bombshells figures. Inserts include hand-drawn Sketch Cards from some of today’s hottest artists and rare variants, such as Foil Boards and Printing Plates. Each hobby box contains a rare “Golden Goddess” variant of a DC Lil Bombshells vinyl figure.
