Scott and I made the journey to join our friends in the trading card hobby at the biannual show. We were very happy to help celebrate the show’s 60th anniversary, and are very thankful to the Toser’s and the others involved who have kept the show running for so long!
We had plenty of exciting things going on at the show, and I’m happy to share this news with the fans at home as well. There are two previously unannounced autograph signers that I think collectors will be eager to know are confirmed:
Anna Gunn for Breaking Bad
David Morrissey for The Walking Dead Season 3 Part 2
It is great that we are able to include these very talented cast members in the trading card releases. As part of our autograph policy, we only announce signers once we have a signed contract. This policy comes to provide accurate information to collectors in a timely fashion, that allows for better decision making. However, there are times when certain cast members will agree to sign, but the process to work out the details of the contract happen simultaneously with the process to create and get the cards signed. In these instances, I don’t feel comfortable announcing signers until I know with certainty that the cards will be included in the release. Anna and David will round out the line-up for those releases, and I can confirm that the autograph list for them is complete.
Attendees at Allentown also received the first look at the redemption for The Walking Dead Season 3 Part 2: an oversized card featuring Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus’s signatures on production-used walker wardrobe. There are 25 signed cards that will be included in the Hobby boxes (redemptions are not included in the Retail blisters or boxes) for fans to keep an eye out for!
The Adventure Time Redemption cards were previewed as well: Oversized Sketch cards featuring dual Totally Fabricated™ swatches! These are awesome and a lot of fun, so definitely check them out!
Cryptozoic is also very happy to share with fans that we will be releasing a series of trading cards and collectibles for the cult classic, Ghostbusters! An excellent addition to our family of licenses, Associate Brand Manager George Nadeau will be heading up the product and is very excited to share more details with fans and collectors in the next coming months.
We also shared with fans a preview of some of the costumes that will be included in the upcoming Sleepy Hollow and Arrow trading cards sets.
We handed out Arrow and Sons of Anarchy promotional cards at the show, including the pretty awesome metal parallel of the SOA promo card, so be sure to check those out when you have a chance!
While that is all from the show in PA, be sure to keep a look out for upcoming blogs in which we will start sharing lots of cool Adventure Time and DC Comics Epic Battles sketch cards, reveal even more Adventure Time autograph signers, and we will reveal all the details about the upcoming Once Upon a Time Trading cards!
