We're big fans of The Walking Dead here in the office. The third season of the hit show is coming this fall, and the 100th issue of the comic is due out this summer. The comic, which is celebrating a monumental moment in its print run, will be released with a number of variants.
One of the variants that people can get comes from what looks to be one of the coolest things that is going on during the week of Comic-Con. The Walking Dead Escape lets people take part in an zombie-virus inspired obstacle course at Petco Park in San Diego.
Participants who wish to survive in this transformation of Petco Park must overcome obstacles as they navigate their way to the evacuation zone. However, they will have to watch out for Walkers, as stumbling into the wrong area will result in becoming infected by the growing horde of zombies.
The obstacle course lasts between 35-50 minutes and the event is done in time slots. And, if you'd rather go against the human race, the event will be taking sign-ups for becoming a Walker closer to the event. Whether you become a Walker (willingly) or a survivor, all participants will receive an exclusive The Walking Dead #100 variant.
If you don't feel l ike joining in on the action, spectator seats will also be available if you'd rather just watch The Walking Dead come to life. While spectators do not receive the variant #100, they will receive a poster featuring the cover the #100 variant.
The event takes place from July 12-14 (during Comic Con), and is sure to be a lot of fun. Walker and spectator tickets are not on sale yet, but survivor tickets are available if you want to book for your time slot.
