Waiting Sucks

By Mike Rosenberg

Last Sunday was the season finale of Game of Thrones. That also means this was the last Game of Thrones afternoon that will be taking place here in the office for a while.

It brings a tear to my eye. There are so many stories I love to follow in this show. I am a glutton for more Game of Thrones!
I won't spoil the finale for you, and I won't elude to any possible plot lines that take place in the third season (since the third book of the series, A Storm of Swords, is probably a good indicator of what's to come) . Not only would that not be cool, I am pretty sure Cory Jones and many other people here would have my head on a stake if I ruin any of the fun for him.
Until the next season of Game of Thrones begins, we'll have to keep ourselves busy with the other shows that are going on this summer. Thankfully, when it comes to HBO Series originals, we won't have to wait long for new episodes of a hit.
True Blood, the popular series based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries novel series by Charlaine Harris, premieres this Sunday at 9pm EST/PST. And oh man, if the previews have been any indication, this season is going to be jam-packed with tension, vengeance, and a lot of blood.
As a note, if you don't want to have the experience spoiled by even the trailers, click the back button now. You have been warned.
Ahhhhhhhhhh! Russell's back!
Okay. So, if you haven't seen any of the official trailers (and if not, I high recommend doing so), the Authority becomes a major player of the season. Also, as you may recognize from the above poster, Russell Edgington is back. Yes, I suppose this is what happens when you would rather relish in the eternal suffering of a vampire instead of delivering it the true death. Good going, Bill and Eric! It appears that Bill and Eric are learning a valuable lesson this season: maybe, just maybe, you should kill a 3000 year old vampire who is touted as the most powerful vampire on the planet rather than simply teasing it.
Russell returns, and is no doubt going to continue what he did best back in season 3: make humans fear all vampires, and lead the vampires as the top of the food chain. Will Sookie and the rest of the humans and non-humans in Bon Temps be able to survive the wrath of the supernatural, and the anger of Russell Edgington?
As HBO's Twitter campaign states: #waitingsucks. Thankfully, the wait for one of our favorite shows won't be too much longer. Catch the season premiere of True Blood this Sunday at 9.
And, as there are a couple of plot lines that we'll be able to sink our teeth into from the last season, which character are you the most interested in following?
